Aluminum Week: USITC Testimony Highlights Industry Growth, Decarbonization
Aluminum Association President & CEO Charles Johnson testified yesterday at a U.S. International Trade Commission (USITC) hearing as part of its fact-finding investigation to assess the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions intensity of U.S.-produced aluminum and steel. Remarks highlighted the importance of aluminum to the green energy transition as well as progress the domestic industry has made to decarbonize – including a 50% reduction in average North American aluminum production carbon emissions over the past 30 years.
